Why Karaya Boricua?

Karaya Boricua is 14 years old.

It began with conversations. The kind that happen informally on a terrace, coffee in hand, while talking about what is happening in Puerto Rico. Opinions that were not looking for applause, but for context. Points of view that deserved to be heard beyond those four walls.

For years, I was known for short phrases, thoughts, and reflections. It was my voice, but that voice was still searching for direction.

Then, a few months ago, something changed.

A court case in Puerto Rico sparked a public conversation that no one seemed to be examining in depth. I wrote about it here, and the response was so strong that I understood this was the path Karaya Boricua was meant to follow.

Since then, Karaya Boricua has become a space for legal and social analysis. For cases that matter. For laws that few people read, even though they affect us all. For conversations that move beyond the basic account of what happened and enter the process, the documents, and the questions no one else seems to be asking.

I am not a journalist. I am not a traditional influencer.

I am a communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in communications and advertising. I understand how messages are built, how narratives are shaped, and how ideas are positioned. That is the perspective from which I write and analyze.

Without taking sides. Without pointing fingers. Always returning to the source. Always returning to the law.

Because understanding how the system works should be a right available to everyone.
